Weekly Announcements

ANNOUNCEMENTS: 10-16-2011
  • Join us each Sunday morning for the next four (4) weeks at 8:30 A.M. in the fellowship hall for the study “Treasurers of the Transformed Heart”. Would you like to have a book to read at your leisure?
  • October 23 is Charge Conference at Walnut Creek UMC at 5:00 o’clock in the afternoon with worship service beginning at 6:00 P.M. What a great chance to experience the joys of serving God as a Methodist. We’ll be leaving the church parking lot at 4:30 … sharp!
  • FIFTH SUNDAY SOUTHERN GOSPEL SINGING CELEBRATION … October 30, 2011. We’ll give you more details next week.
  • October 31 let’s join the Citywide Fall Festival. Ask Shane how you can be part of the festivities or their planning. We will be collecting wrapped or packaged candy to be distributed on that evening. If you would prefer to donate school supplies or oral hygiene products check with Brother Fred for the details.
  • ALL SAINTS SUNDAY … November 6, 2011 we will recognize those Saints who have gone on before us. Those who made it possible for you and me to worship in this place. Over the next three weeks we will be gathering the names of those individuals that meant so much to you, this church and to God. If you would like to name someone to be recognized on that Sunday, please give their name (correct spelling) to Brother Fred or Shane. This is always a very worshipful service and we invite each of you to be present and bring others with you. It will be a day of remembering as well as looking ahead to what God has for us at Maplesville United Methodist Church.
  • November 13 is Operation Christmas Child Sunday!!! Pack a shoe box and enjoy the fun and blessing of helping a child.

  • October 16 is Laity Sunday. We look forward with eager anticipation to celebrate the ministry of the laity in our church. A special service is being planned for the morning service.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:9/25/2011
  • October 2, 2011 in the 11:00 A.M. service we will join the Christian world to celebrate Holy Communion on this World Communion Day 2011. Come and Dine at the Lord’s Table. Join us as we remember what Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection means to you.
  • 8:30 October 2, 2011 we will begin or study of “Treasurers of a Transformed Heart”. Please be on time. We will meet in the fellowship hall around the tables.
  • 11:15 October 2, 2011 there will be an Administrative Council meeting and Charge Conference Form Signing following the morning worship service. Currently the Administrative Council is composed of George Walker (chair), Ed Higginbotham, Sarah Bohannon, and Shane Ogle. More members could be added as folks feel and accept their call into ministry opportunities within the church.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: 9/18/2011
  • 9:00 A.M. NEXT Sunday, September 25, 2011, we will hold our introduction to our Fall Study. The study will be of John Ed Matheson’s book “Treasurers of a Transformed Heart”. It is our hope that everyone will participate in the seven week study. If you can’t attend all seven weeks please read the book with us weekly as we learn about the treasurers of the transformed life. Reverend Grady will be preaching sermons that supplement the study. Books and study guides will be handed out at that meeting on the 25th. If you are not going to be present for the introduction, please let Brother Fred know so he can make arrangements for you to get your books. 
  • September 25, 2011 Shane Ogle will be speaking for us. Tell everyone you know so we will have an excellent crowd to hear this young man proclaim the Word of God. Be in prayer for Shane as he seeks God’s will and anointing for God’s sermon.
  • October 2, 2011 in the 11:00 A.M. service we will join the Christian world’s celebration Holy Communion on this World Communion Day 2011. Come and Dine at the Lord’s Table. And Remember what Jesus’ death and resurrection means to you, your justification, and your resurrection upon His return.
